LoneWolf & Cub 2075

Text by M. Routliffe [link]
The sun melted the soles of their shoes, but they were unaware.
They walked forward. One-pointed in their focus.
Before Annihilation they had killed for money.
In a world without money, the few problems that couldn't be solved with a polite ask,
were solved with a blade, or a gun.
They ate, drank, and killed as needed. Wherever they ventured, eyes followed.
Few approached them, unnerved by a wolf and cub walking quietly, composed and unharmed.
They did not stray from their journey on the pathways of Perdition.

I thought it would be interesting to see how a child would react in a post apocalyptic world, what would become our notions of equality, good and bad, etc...
What would become acceptable...
LoneWolf and Cub were, way before any apocalypse already living in a similar world, a Samurai and a Child going through dangerous Japan.

The scene shows a mix of horror and childlike imagery, a contrast maybe trying to live with each other.
As for the characters, they just go on with their normal life, whatever this might be.
I thought this too was worth a thought or too.

I also liked the story it tells, and most definitely the story it lets the viewer create.
What had happened, what is happening and what is going to happen...
Three big questions...
:D

Finally, not that this is of special interest to me, but just so you guys know, I drew all that stuff in illustrator, it took me for ever, this is the most advanced piece I have done on computer to date, used my Wacom quite obviously, then imported tons of textures from photoshop, and re-adjusted the whole thing in Illustrator.
I don't know exactly, but It took me something close to 50 hours for sure.

Voila, that's all.
Enjoy!
:D
Bellow are the links to some details.
Cheers

That is pretty cool. I haven't read through all four (more?) pages of comments, but have you ever read Mike Kennedy's LONE WOLF 2100?

Oh, the comments are mostly comments.
Nothing mind blowing with few exceptions
:)

But no, I haven't read Mike Kennedy's, but that is noted and will be deep into it as soon as possible.
Thanks a lot for mentioning it.

Very very good idea.
I must admit that I kinda thought of it too. :)

really good idea though.

:iconkanegulock:
not surprised although I have also thought about doing it in A superhero setting as well, oh and I'm not saying your Idea isn't original but I believe the book "the Road" is this basic Idea
Reply
:iconsergefoglio:
Yes, but the "road" was directly taken from LoneWolf and Cub who is japanese and way older than the road.
Plus, I do disagree with the philosophy that seems to be said in "the Road"
But yes, I've heard that many time.:)

nevertheless, thanks a bunch for your comments.

yeah I knew that and from what I hear so was "road To perdition" that what I mean when I say im not surprised those kinds of story's "noble Warriors vs the world can be done in any setting

Yes, you are right about road to perdition, which btw is excellent.
I personally find it interesting how things are expressed in different cultures.
